In the first of a new series of “Cider with…” collaborations, masters of improvisation The Ciderhouse Rebellion (accordionist Murray Grainger and fiddle player Adam Summerhayes) are joined by stellar Irish singer Molly Donnery (from The Haar) as they cast their evocative magic over songs from the tradition, from the misty beauties of Mo Bhuachaillín Donn to the joyous race of Murphy’s Running Dog.
Cider With Molly is intimate stuff, drawing listeners into the very heart of the music. Each performance is uniquely magical in its improvisatory focus.
“A voice that encourages ever more attentive listening as you strive to catch every nuance of her impeccable delivery.” (FRUK of Molly Donnery).
“Molly Donnery, whose evocative vocals guide the listener through every to-and-fro… every ridge and furrow, and every raging sea to trickling stream.” TradFolk
“Grainger’s accordion with Summerhayes’s fiddle is especially beautiful.”(Songlines).
“Compelling, exciting and utterly original.”(Phil Beer, Show Of Hands).
