A year after they were forced to return from a hastily-cancelled European tour in order to enter lockdown, Harbottle & Jonas are releasing their brand new album The Beacon this Friday 26th of March.
“a magnificent sound…the music captures to perfection the dramatically expansive visual landscape of the moors” FRUK
David and Freya, who are joined on the record by collaborator Annie Baylis, wrote and recorded The Beacon at home throughout the summer of 2020, and the album touches upon themes of nature, friends lost, family remembered and the meaning of home.
The Harbottle & Jonas Trio will be launching the album with a livestream from The Barrelhouse, Totnes, performing the album in its entirety as well as a second set of favourites from their previous four albums.
Attend the livestream at 7.30pm on Friday the 26th here: http://bit.ly/TheBeaconLiveStream
The livestream is free to attend but donations on the night will be gratefully received!
The album is still available to preorder from all digital stores and directly from David and Freya at: https://bit.ly/thebeaconpreorder
A CD version of the album with beautifully illustrated artwork and lyric sheet will ship soon after release and, of course, the full album will be available to stream from Friday.
It’s been an arduous year for Harbottle & Jonas, but The Beacon album is a shining light that has emerged – we’re keeping our fingers crossed for some further live gig and festival performances for 2021, but please join us on Friday evening at 7.30pm for the livestream and don’t forget to grab your copy of an album described as “a big step forward” by Americana UK, when it lights up the world on Friday!
We’ll leave the last word to the wonderful Listen With Monger blog:
“I loved them before, but I think I might just love this new sound even more!”
