Tier 2 restrictions may now be in place for Devon, but the show must go on! The fromthewhitehouse, The Black Bird Collective and Dartington team are slightly adjusting our hugely popular Saturday live music nights to work with these new guidelines. We present: Great Hall Sessions Supper Club…

Join us on cabaret-style, candlelit tables for a super special music and dining experience. We have a wonderful line-up of acts playing each Saturday in December (two per evening), and a menu full of delicious local and ethically produced suppers courtesy of the White Hart (including veggie and vegan options) – plus a bar fully stocked with great drinks from the south west.

SAT 5 DEC: ACOUSTIC BLISS WITH BEN MORGAN-BROWN AND ANNA LING

Ben Morgan-Brown is swiftly gaining recognition for his finely crafted songs, clear-as-a-bell vocals and beautiful fingerpicking guitar style. “A singer-songwriter that can grab your attention from the first chord” – The Living Tradition

Winner of Purbeck Rising 2019, shortlisted for Song of the Year 2019 by FATEA, his intimate and warm songs have drawn comparisons to Nick Drake, Paul Simon, and Bert Jansch. Combining personal authenticity with an at-ease stage presence, Ben’s poignant songs and stories envelop the audience in a comforting balm of connection and beauty.

“Beautifully written, beautifully played – the brilliant Ben Morgan-Brown” – Tom Robinson, BBC6

Anna Ling’s early years were full of music, both from her parents and the many World Musicians that would come and stay. She started writing music, performing, and promoting gigs in her mid-teens and has kept Music at the center of her life ever since. Her style has been influenced by many years of traveling, as well as an Ethnomusicology degree and her years living in an Ashram.

Her songs are rhythmically hypnotic and harmonically rich, and the themes call upon her interest in science and spirituality; the big Why’s, What’s, and Who’s. She will be joined by Nirvan Murrell on banjo and double bass, and Ben Mali on backing vocals.
