Every Thursday from 8pm to 10pm this August – fantastic live music, food and drink on the Great Lawn (outside the White Hart at Dartington Hall) in the evening sunshine, with entertainment brought to you by a collaboration between The Black Bird Collective and fromthewhitehouse.

Thursday 6 August: Harbottle & Jonas
Devon based duo Harbottle & Jonas (Dave and Freya) are partners in life as well as music, combining their love of the rich stories and music of traditional folk with their own original and contemporary interpretations. They have developed a signature sound, blending concertina, harmonium, banjo, stomp box, acoustic guitar and cittern with their beautiful and closely intertwined vocal harmonies.

Thursday 13 August: New Daze
Together Jessy Plum and Oli Syrett are New Daze – a foot stomping folk, gypsy, hip hop duo – living and making music in Torquay. Their sweet vocal tones and catchy tunes have seen them become local favourites, playing regularly across South Devon, whilst also gaining growing national recognition.
Thursday 20 August: Bert Miller
Bert is eccentric, theatrical, and brilliantly funny. He has the musical ability to be sweet and delicate and then surprisingly raucous and high energy. Bert’s songs are simplistic and well crafted and his lyrics are honest and sincere, but his demeanour and delivery and his unique take on things will often see audiences laughing at even the saddest moments in his story.

Thursday 27 August: Long For The Coast
Jamie and Sophie Gould – AKA Long For The Coast – sing stories about social change, spiritual advantures and close friends lost and found. They combine sincere lyrics, beautiful harmonies.
Honest, endearing, and fiercely hopeful, LFTC believe that music is community, and aim to promote a culture of authenticity where people feel safe to be themselves.
Thursday 3 September: Holly Ebony
Holly is a folk singer who, in addition to her live appearances, is part of a range of music projects for all ages in the South West.
Her work is often rooted in a deep respect and love for the natural world. She says: “Having always lived in the edges and hedgerows, I have a deep connection to the land. Singing together with other people … is one of the finest experiences life has to offer”.
